Bramblebee Grass-Fed Hogget Shoulder Joint
A little more flavour, a little more time, and a deliciously rewarding roast.
Our grass-fed hogget shoulder joint is a wonderful choice for those who enjoy meat with a deeper, richer flavour than lamb. Perfect for slow roasting until beautifully tender, it's also a delicious option for cooking on the BBQ.
Sourced from our local family farm in Southery, just a few miles from Bramblebee Farm, our hogget comes from grass-fed sheep. We carefully select the animals, looking for a good carcass and the right balance of fat to deliver the flavour and quality we want for our customers.
Our hogget comes from Texel and Suffolk breeds, both renowned for their meat-producing qualities.
What is hogget?
Hogget is sheep meat from an animal older than lamb but younger than mutton, typically around 12–24 months old. Our hogget is raised through the winter and finished at around 18 months.
The extra time allows the meat to develop a deeper, more distinctive flavour than lamb. Cook it slowly, allow it to rest before carving, and you'll be rewarded with wonderfully tender meat that's well worth the wait.
