Looking for a delicious alternative to turkey this Christmas? Our Bramblebee Old Spot Pork Shoulder Crackling Joint makes a wonderful festive centrepiece, full of traditional flavour and topped with that golden, crispy crackling everyone loves.
At Bramblebee Farm, we breed our own pigs, typically Gloucestershire Old Spots, under our own Bramblebee name. We chose this traditional breed for three important reasons: hardiness, eating quality and its wonderful connection to orchards. Known as the orchard pig, it's a particularly fitting choice for us as apple growers!
Our pigs are raised outdoors in family groups and fed a diet of low-protein pig nuts from a local mill, alongside farm vegetables that might otherwise go to waste. Depending on the season, their menu can include everything from cauliflower to pumpkins and apples from our own orchard.
As a slow-growing traditional breed, our Old Spots take longer to mature, helping produce pork with a wonderful depth of flavour that brings back the taste of traditional farm-reared meat.

Our pork shoulder is ideal for a leisurely Christmas roast, cooked until beautifully tender with delicious, crispy crackling. Serve with golden roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, stuffing and plenty of rich gravy for a festive feast the whole family can enjoy.
