The Story Behind Our Orchards

We’ve recently taken on a block of orchards that I originally planted when I was a farm manager, so being able to return to them and hopefully give them a new lease of life feels particularly special.

Sadly, most of the orchards are now towards the end of their productive life. They’ve had two years without sprays, and some areas have gone even longer without the pruning and care they once received.

Our aim now is to save as much as we possibly can and, over time, hopefully transform the orchards into something the whole community can enjoy and be part of.

Everyone who came along to our first event seemed to really enjoy themselves, which was fantastic to see. I hope there will be plenty more to come!

For now, please follow along, enjoy seeing the journey and support this new project. I really hope that, in time, the orchards can become another part of what helps support the farm and keep it farming into the future.

Diversity is incredibly important to us. Without it, farms like ours simply won’t be here in the future — and that would be a very sad thing indeed.
